I think I've finally found it. It's still going to take a bit of work to get going, but that's not out of reach.
Chicken happened to be on sale this week; $5 for a small bird.
Final result tasted good, but I still ended up overcooking it even with my trusty digital thermometer:

Crazy! We're getting hail in the middle of May!

Wow, what a fantastic start to the F1 2009 season! Finally got the chance to watch both the Australian and Malaysian GPs this weekend, and the results by the virgin team (pun intended) Brawn GP and more so, Jensen Button, in the first two races is pretty incredible. Seriously though, who would have thought that the curious career of Jensen Button would be hitting a high after those years with Honda? And to get pole position and first place (albeit both times behind the safety car) in two consecutive races is pretty amazing for Button. Also interesting is the introduction of KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System), which is pretty much a turbo button (80hp for 6 seconds a lap) and a chapter taken straight out of the video games. It's pretty heavy though and so far, the teams that are using it aren't doing so great (Ferrari, McLaren, BMW), though that might have more to do with the double/triple diffusers on (incidentally) the top cars in the field right now (Brawn, Toyota, Williams). Guess we'll have to wait until Tuesday for that to be cleared though.
I had totally forgotten how exciting F1 was, especially after missing much of the last season (though I did watch Hamilton's first win at the Villeneuve circuit in Montreal back in '07 [you could tell he was going to win a championship, though no one expected so soon]). At least this year Ferrari and McLaren won't be able to spend themselves into first place as they have in past years.
And whoever was dealing the strategies in the Ferrari pit wall should be fired after giving Raikkonen those extreme wet tires ten laps before the actual rain came. What a mess!

Nothing else to say now but that the feedback so far is both encouraging and overwhelming -- big ups to everyone on the team and the countless hours put into making this a reality. Cheers!

Read the Watchmen graphic novel last week (it was epic, incredibly captivating), but have yet to watch the much debated movie adaptation.
Anyways, my random dump of images follows:
Just last week it was snowing...
... but now, it's fricken nice! (more harbourfront)
Duckles
Mini Golden Gate
If you've seen Laputa, then you can only imagine the world that lies beneath the surface
Food, yum.
Slow shutter + LED = AWESOME!
W for WINNAR!
The much over-used scribble lightdrawing
Taken today. The sky, it burns!

Went to the WBC opener yesterday with Rhys and his gf, and it was pretty frickin' awesome. The Canada v. USA game was really good and had everyone standing and cheering at the 9th when we were this close at a shot of winning the game. Even though Canada lost, they definitely didn't disappoint. We also stayed for the Italy v. Venezuela game, but it was the complete opposite of the Canada/USA game. It was super slow; neither Italy nor Venezuela got on the board until the fifth, after which Venezuela basically steam-rolled the Italians. And I was cheering for the Italians too (for Fabio's sake, hah). Ah well.
Took this on Friday at the harbourfront. I often go there to unwind from the marathon that is life. It was 17.6 degrees Celsius on Friday. 17.6!
Top of the ninth; the atmosphere in the Skydome was incredible. Great game, it was.
Another shot of the CN Tower. I like the design of it, despite what others say, so I try to take a picture whenever I walk by.

Ah, sweet, finally got hooked back up to the internet today -- though to be honest, after the initial panic of not having the ability to do simple things like use google maps or checking email sets, it's rather relaxing not being bombarded with information as you do on the net. That said, I missed not having the ability to yell to the world from my little corner of the (wika)web.
Aside from work, drawing randomly, and occasionally swimming, I can't say that I've had much time otherwise, so here are my usual dump of photos.
A view from one of the office windows on this beautiful spring morning. Almost nice enough to eat outside now! (12 degrees celsius on Saturday, frick!)
Got off at St. Andrews (?) station and noticed a distinct blue glow from one end. It't not as apparent in this photo, but it was _really_ hazy blue. Kinda like a dream.
Overexposed shot out of the station
I like the museum station. Counting the stations up/down the Yonge line, it's like: "ugly, dilapidated, decaying, moderate, HOLY HELL (Museum station), acceptable, nasty, ..."
That said, I'm going to take a couple hours one day and stop at every station on the Yonge line. I still can't believe that I've lived here for five years and have only taken the Yonge line up past St. George ONCE. For shame.
Hahaha, YES. Rhys was crazy enough to actually go ahead and try and make skittles vodka. It was pretty frickin' awesome.
I had the lime -- it was pretty good, not too sweet, not too bitter.
I tip my hat; you win good sir!
Meat balls with rice pasta (it has a very similar texture and taste to wheat pasta without the gluten overdose). It was alright. I didn't get the tomato sauce as rich or thick as I would have liked.
I did make some pretty awesome garlic butter though. It's so easy; you only need butter, parsley, garlic and lemon juice (do it by eye, you really can't go wrong). It goes well with lots of stuff, not just bread.
Tried making some chocolate dipped kiwi after seeing Stefan from Top Chef do something similar with mango. Kiwi clearly doesn't compliment the dark chocolate as well... but it was still refreshing and interesting none-the-less.
I'm moving the comic link elsewhere, but you can still check out the rest of the comics (it's sometimes updated more than this site) here: frontrow/comics.
