Due to a misunderstanding, my internet's out until March 5... so updates will be rather sporadic for the next little while.

Holy hell, these Pringles Extreme "Kickin' Cheddar" chips are downright nasty. Seriously, the aftertaste is horrible... not quite cheddar, not quite chip.
Anyways, as I promised earlier, the new (and in progress) images-only site is up and can be found if you simply look up to the top of the page (or just click the image below). All new drawings and such will added be there from now on.

Actually drew this picture a couple weeks ago after buying a shammy knockoff that didn't really work that well, but it appears that tomorrow is Friday the 13th and incidentally yet another Jason movie is coming out.
Please don't sue me shamwow!

Alright, I'm nearly done with a temporary page with only my images. That way, you won't have to scroll through the pages here just to see 'em.
I've been seeing a ton of these coach canada ads around. Mike says they're actually a good deal... depending on where you're going.
(I propose that the inverse-umlat'ed dollar sign be our new universal currency. We can call it the "Cuil".)

Went out for Winterlicious at Atelier Thuet yesterday night (why was it so damned hard to find?); the place had pretty cozy atmosphere/vibe and the food was pretty good as well (simplicity pays off, as I preferred the butternut squash soup and the pot pie over the other fancier dishes we tried).
I was walking up the stairs of the Finch station a couple days ago, and noticed this.
Tell me it doesn't look like what I think it looks like!
Though it's actually just encrusted salt. Interesting how it turned out though (or maybe we naturally just see patterns in everything).

Oy, I knew there was a reason I drew and stored this picture away. It's for days like today.

Got lucky today as I was out shopping for a present and someone at Future Shop accidentally marked down Super Paper Mario with another Mario game that was about 20% cheaper. Surprisingly, they were nice enough to honour the sticker price and even applied the friends and family discount (only for these couple of days) on top of that.
Pretty awesome.
I like working with multithreaded code; though even I sometimes doubt whether the resulting code is truly deadlock free.
In other news, I'm really digging this 70's/80's music. I think I'm going to start working my way back to the Beatles and beyond and catch up on everything that I've missed out on. Currently listening to: Boston - More than a feeling
For the trekkies (myself included): Proof that racism exists, even in the 24th century.
Random note: drawing the LCARS interface was not nearly as fun as I thought it would be...

I had absolutely no idea that they were suddenly going to partially resurrect Dead Like Me after a six year hiatus, but they did, and I was very much hoping that it would follow the witty and unique flare of the original series. <Spoilers ahead>
Boy, was I wrong.
The special is, in a word, horrible. Not only did they not bring back Laura Harris, but they made her character a cheap thrill, and they killed off Rube (and the Waffle House). Whaaa!? That completely destroys the need for Mason's character and the whole discussion over the indiscriminate responsibility of being a reaper. They also betray the original premise, the sole reason for George's transformation/growing up in the original series, just so they could tie up loose ends. I'm not even going to comment on how every time Cameron (aka. Desmond) opened his mouth I was half-expecting a "Hey Brotha". Oy vey.
In other news, the 2009 budget is out, and I'm not sure it's going to go down so well. It's already been proven that tax cuts have almost no positive effect in stimulating an economy; the problem isn't necessarily that people don't have savings, but that nobody who is jobless is going to be spending much regardless. The government should know better, and follow the lead of several european nations by investing in not only in infrastructure (only creates short term jobs), but improving public sector education and getting some of these people out of these volatile boom/recession bound trades. The best thing to invest in when the markets are down is, seriously, your education. All this talk of bailouts and nationalization of parts of the economy is hurting my head!
For the gamers out there, the box art of one of the most underrated games known to man:
I'm pretty sure I'm one of the few people who ever got to play (and own a copy of) Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri. It was a fantastic strategic-fps that was unfortunately too far ahead of its time. Developed by the legendary Looking Glass Studios, it's still massively fun to play to this day... if you have the time.
