I hope you guys got to catch the total lunar eclipse last night! It was an incredible sight, with the moon glowing like lava.

Random picture dump from a weekend in LA for Pat's birthday.
Nice scenery down Hwy 5!
Only for about 15min after Gilroy though :(
Adam took this one, God rays fire!
As LA as it gets :)
Riding down Hollywood blvd.
Inside our hotel
Some hidden room...
...behind this secret door!
One of many fire pits beside the pool, the weather at night was an awesome 15 deg!
Anand doin' the moon walk.
Wicked!
I really like the expression on these masks on the Chinese theatre.
Yep
Pew pew pew!
Where we stayed!
Go ahead and photoshop yourself into this picture!
Chillin' at the pool bar
Outside Ammo
We ate at Ammo on Dan's recommendation and the food was off the charts. So goood.
Tried to take an HDR shot of this balloon, but failed :(
Looking up the foothills
Back onto the blvd
I think this was actually a club or something because there was a bouncer outside :P
Props to the Android team for releasing 2.3 aka Gingerbread!
Bumblebee!!
Squawk! (Kinda looks like a bird)
Wanna know how I got these scars?
Sunset over Sunset Blvd
Climbing up Runyon Canyon
Downtown LA in the dinstance
Random artifact on the hill
Someday... haha :)
One of Dan's dogs, I am horrible with names for I can't recall it right now
This is a fantastic idea for getting pets adopted
Another shot downtown
Woot, Hollywood!
Cody & his brother
This trailer looked kinda interesting (it was much much darker than this picture lets on)
<hum>Tron dude crossing the street</hum>
We happened to be on the blue carpet for the premiere of Tron, haha.
Shot from the hotel
Tried to walk up to the japanese styled building, but it was LOCKED. Fail.
A quick stop at UCLA..
...the campus is really nice...
...and really clean!

Already time for Christmas lights... this year has gone by ridiculously fast.
Finally got a chance to try out the relatively inexpensive neutral density filter (3 stops) I got last week, and before you say that there is no point in using such a filter at night, I have to disagree because the filter actually allows you to make tighter adjustments to the exposure when there is a direct light source (ie. the exposure time could be extended from 2-5s to 10-30s). And maybe I'm crazy, but the colours look nicer and warmer as well, but admittedly, I don't yet fully understand the physics behind that. :)
A shot of the stables. I love how the light illuminates the leaves!
If you cover the bottom half, they could be doing the "elevator" :P
This shot was really, really dark.
Mr. Claus says Hi!

Not that kind of dump of course, but here are some pics from Sweeney Ridge, a short trail near Daly City where you can get a grand view of both the ocean and the south bay.
They look like hand grenades, but it's actually Root beer!
Took the words right out of my mouth.
The part of the trail leading to the Crystal Spring reservoir that was closed...
... so instead we take this one! I can't believe we just dug a trail right in the side of the hill like that.
I am still not sure what this is... it looked like an egg, but I later saw one split open, and it almost looked like a mushroom inside?
Interesting seedlets
Zoom and enhance!
This tree was all alone on the side of the hill. Perhaps it is pondering its own existence.
A shot of the reservoir.
Fungus or some sort of growth on the branches of trees all along the path.
The winding trail up
And at the top, the trail leads to the end of the world. True story.
Random containers peaking out from the bushes... how menacing
There are these abandoned houses up there which are pretty cool. This one looked sketch so I just snapped a pic from afar.
Outside the other house, this contraption sat. I wonder what it did?
It is literally falling apart in there
Some gangsta Darth Vader
More destruction within
A peek out the window. You can't really see it, but the ocean is just beyond the cliff there.
Last picture before getting the heck out of there. :P
Outside shot
Take off!
I like this one a lot. I think you can even see Hwy 1!
Tiny beetle scurrying to wherever it needs to be.
More flora.
Random shot from land's end. I like this one a lot too.
American Thanksgiving is around the corner, which means more good food and company. I'm pretty sure the only reason Canadian thanksgiving was moved forward in the 50's was so that we could enjoy pumpkin pie twice anyways. Those politicians are a crafty bunch!

Yes, Night Life. Sigh.
Anyways, these were some pictures I took from the Lower Crystal Springs Reservoir trails and some shots I took while walking around at night. Yes, the street lights are that orange.
Lighting is a fascinating subject. Especially at night.
It's like the garden light is giving a presentation to all the rocks below!
It looks like it could climb to the clouds, it's that tall.
This cone has seen better days.
One always stands out doesn't it?
Awesome.
I take this corner everyday to and from work, but it looks so different at night.
Will do!
Gah!
Gah again!
Much better. I probably shouldn't be taking pictures of power relay stations at night with the country perpetually at Code Orange...
One of my favourite shots of the night; the light went really dim for about a minute and I was able to get a longer exposure with the lamp as well as the stars.
Flowers with evening dew are a weakness of all aspiring photographers.
This image belies how dark it seriously was that night (this is maybe a 15s exposure I think?)
A children's oven. Such a shame it is being trashed!
Speaking of trash... no, wait, that was a horrible segue. Anyways, this is on Skyline Blvd. It was a beautiful day.
Love it. Love it. Love it.
How did that bulldog get there?
The reservoir.
Look closely, doesn't it look like a dragon?
Between two boards.
In the side of a cliff where one expects no plants to grow, one plant defies all odds and survives. The Little Green Plant. (Coming to theatres near you)
Would you believe me if I told you it was wheat? Me neither.
Fuzzy!
If you guess the combination, I hear that you can steal the whole fence.
American thanksgiving coming up. I guess I have more than enough to be thankful for this year that I can celebrate thanksgiving twice!
More pictures in the coming days. I am back-logged!

Hmm. Got a new camera. Went to Japan. Still working hard. Went to a Cal Bears game. Took some pictures. Trying to maintain a better life/work balance. What else can I say?
Here are some random pictures from the Treasure Island Music Festival.. Ra Ra Riot was pretty good, and I got to see Zooey Deschanel (She and Him were pretty good, haha), but Broken Social Scene stole the show and was frickin' awesome. Missed Belle and Sebastian though. Random pic drop ensues.
Not sure how it got that way.. but that is a very interesting pose
Finally got to take the CalTrain up to SF (have been driving these past few months). It's nice. I got a bit of the storyboarding done.
Some girl in the post card "machine" making beep boop noises and handing out cards :).
I always thought those rigs looked like AT-ATs!
This guy was awesome, playing some rave music near the little cul-de-sac thing.
Pretty, no?
This girl had mad hat-tossing skills
Clearly not road-legal... unless you are playing Gran Turismo 5, on the hwy 101 track.
One of these is an UNAGI TACO. What! The spicy chicken was pretty dang good though.
Layin' a huge egg.
Zooey!
BSS!
More Broken Social Scene!
Kevin Drew crowd surfing all the way from the stage to the tech platform
I think he's ready to get down now
I love the detail on this lantern
Coit tower looks pretty at night
Ferris wheel goes 'round and 'round
Pretty lights
This thing would raise up over the park and two stages.. didn't see anyone actually ride it though
The Nationals playing in the back there (as far as I remember)
Shot of the bay bridge from the shores of treasure island.. pretty!

I've been slacking a bit on the posts -- mostly due to the move to CA but also because I have nothing really interesting to say.
I'll think of something soon though, I swear!

Indeed, this has been several months coming but we are finally able to announce that BumpTop has been acquired! I am super proud of everything that the team (Anand, Mike, Adam, Pat, Justin, Nina, the coops, and everyone else) has accomplished in this short time. From the days of hacking away at the DGP labs, to when we finally moved into the proper office at 67 Yonge and expanding to the talent we have now, this experience has been a rollercoaster ride of sorts. Cheers to all of those who have purchased and supported BumpTop throughout it's development, and cheers to the team -- I am massively looking forward to us going to Google and doing great things. To infinity (or Sunny California), and beyond!
